Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, differs from European floral design in its emphasis on minimalism and asymmetry.

Literally, “Ikebana” means “flowers kept alive.”

In this experience, you will learn from qualified instructors how to create beautiful arrangements for every season while appreciating the harmony between the materials, the container, and the surrounding space.

You will visit a local flower shop in Yanaka, where you can choose your preferred seasonal flowers. Our Ikebana specialist will guide you step by step, offering expert advice along the way.

Feel free to take photos during the session, and at the end, capture a picture of your Ikebana creation with your wonderful smile! ?

Duration: Approximately 90 minutes

For explanation of the basic concept of Ikebana, and the difference with Western flower arrangement. With the guidance with a friendly Sensei, you will try the first Ikebana design in a vase step by step, learning the critical rules of Ikebana about 30 minutes. After the first trial, your sensei will take you a local flower shop for purchasing fresh seasonal flowers for your final presentation. It is one of the best part of this experience, to meet and communicate with real locals!

All items of the program are prepared by us. Please bring only your the passion and love to flowers. As we takes you to local flower shop in Yanaka area, you are able to buy your favorite flowers by yourself.
